My first Smash Bros game. Besides the tripping, and not having known Melee, I really enjoyed it, especially the Subspace Emissary campaign. Probably wouldn't be as enjoyable to return to these days, but back then I enjoyed learning about each character in that weird sort of way, teaming up with Diddy Kong and Fox, seeing Meta Knight and Ike duel, etc.
Having not known any of the franchises or where any of the characters came from besides the ones from Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda, Brawl was both an introduction to everyone else through the Adventure mode, as well as a timeless classic to keep returning to every school break to play multiplayer with.
Trying to unlock as much of the Challenge and trophies cabinet as we could was also something that kept us coming back. And beating All-Star mode with every character to unlock the Final Smash trophy was sick. Just the whole Trophy Gallery was very nostalgic to look through. And the music slapped.
