This is a really fun cart racer, that should have more people play it despite its age. The idea is that you race around the locations from the first 2 Toy Story films on small vehicles, as characters from those 2 films too, in races, and that's all the concept needed, but it's up to how well it's done that will determine its quality. Graphics are colorful and fun to look at, but are good, they almost feel blurry from the PS1 effects. The gameplay though is great and holds up, the vehicles turn tightly which is really fun and feels like it would work better than if it was any slower, and the environment is accommodating to these controls, there are shortcuts that if you do them right, you can advance further, which is great cause that questions whether you should do it, or play it safe, as opposed to games where if you know the short cut, you just take it, and stuff like having clean tile floors work as ice, Etche show the way to go with arrows, or the things used as powerups and weapons against other players show creativity in making this setting feel it should be like any other tracks.
The other challenges other than races to do are all fun and great as the racing itself, you can unlock other characters to if you win enough challenges. The Music is also great, and worth listening too. Toy Story racer is an underrated cart racer that isn't the best, but I can recommend any racing gamer plays.
