As someone who had only played Super Metroid for the first time last year beeing a fan of the genre, it was surprising to see how well it still stands, and how good of a game it still is, so when i started this game i was not surprised to see that same sentiment here.

For me Samus Returns maintains the same feeling of playing Super Metroid, a genre defining game, but updated with modern metroidvania perks, and that makes for a great game.

For starters, as in Super Metroid, every part of the level is really there for a reason, you'll get trapped everytime you get a new power, but you'll use it to get away and fell so damn cool every single time you are more powerful, and this goes upgrade after upgrade, level after level, it's just perfection in the system.

The quality of life improvements are all over the place, from teleporters, to hints to where is the next metroid, to the excellent map and pin system, allowing you to see where you going and pin different colors on the map to know which new power up will allow you to go back to that place.

It's just a blast to play it, such a shame that it came out on the end of the 3ds life cycle, i hope more people can play this and see how great of a remake this is, one of the best metroidvanias ever made.

Also! the ending was so unexpected cool, maybe not everything is evil just because you don't know it, what a nice touch
