There were times where i thought this game was peak, but other times where i felt really disappointed with it.
For a game that was supposed to cover around 4-5 hours of the original and expand it to 4 or 5 times the amount, the game was bound to suffer from pacing issues (terrible walking sequences, some unnecessary additions to the story, etc..)
The combat was genuinely amazing tho, the game being an action RPG while maintaining the same combat approach as the original was honestly really well done. Additionally, the main boss fights were really fun and the game did a really good job at creating cinematic boss fights with great phase transitions (except a few of them). Also being able to explore Midgar is a dream come true and you can tell how much care was put into every part of it.
I'm confident that rebirth will fix a lot of the issues i have with this game and add better features to it especially considering the fact that that game will cover a much bigger part of the story than this remake while having larger areas to explore.
