Having barely any memory of the original, I only had a basic idea of what to expect. In a way, that allowed me to judge this game without being affected by nostalgia, for better or for worse. And after finishing it and watching comparison videos between them, I can safely say that this is a very neat game.

Going through this game's aspects real quick to make this review shorter, here's what I think: Gameplay looks pretty much the same as the original and is fun, though there were some annoying bugs and softlocks from time to time, and depending on how much you play it can become old rather quickly. There's barely a story here, it's just a reason for why we're doing what we're doing, but it's fitting for the character and theme of this game, so not a problem. The game looks very good, watching some comparisons I preferred this version, though in a few instances it can be a little too colorful. And this game has just a few but nice songs, that can be a little catchy.

Overall a nice and fun little game, took me about 8-9 hours to beat with 94 Golden Spatulas, and is a good weekend pastime. Would recommend if you want a decent little 3D platformer to distract yourself, and for kids, it's SpongeBob of course it's a kids game.

SCORE: 7/10
