1997
Took me about 3 restarts before I got to grips with the 1997 of it all, but there's a really cool sense of endless possibility that comes with interfacing with the world in a janky way.
The Deathclaw feels like an insurmountable enemy when you encounter it here. The combat system is rough even when you're just fighting a scorpion, but when you finally manage kill it, it feels like you've taken out a dragon with a bread knife.
Excited to start saying this is the best Fallout, which I have now earned the right to do.
