This game also "inspired" the thinly-veiled-title-having "Stellar Track" for the Atari 2600, a dropped license port of Star Trek for that system and probably the most complicated first party game on the console.
Star Trek is fun: it's a strategy game about using limited resources to explore a map to find enemies, keep your ship fueled, and destroy all those enemies within a limited amount of turns. To do that you'll have to employ various weapon types and move very efficiently, only stopping to refuel when you absolutely need to. It's a tense game, and very difficult to win, as well as simply to learn how to play. But learn it, and you'll find yourself addicted for at least an hour or two, which is pretty impressive for 1971.
