Damn, I thought 7 was pretty good in its minimalistic yet interesting lore, this just takes it to the next level. The whole game felt strange compared to the last one but upon completion, everything comes full circle. Combat is very customizable with various types of weapons, upgrades, and modifications. Characters for the most part are pretty damn memorable. The main 4 bosses were hit or miss for me. I loved the first and the last dungeon but the two middle ones were so pitiful and short that I kinda forgot about em. Wish they made Dimitrescu play an even bigger (pls laugh) threat in the story like the promos were making it seem. Ethan is a great protagonist in this game and they gave him more of an identity and purpose in this game compared to the last one. I would joke with my gf about his voice lines in the last game and how he reacted so trivial to some intense situations but in Village, we were really rooting for him this time around. The music was nothing to write home about cause it was more atmospheric except I loved the intro and credits songs with the storybook. The aesthetic is always there with this game. Kind of a “Wintery” setting (pls laugh) and I loved the dark wings motif all the way from the game’s disc, to the title screen, all the way to enemies in the game. This is a very thematic RE with hella hype moments and very good exposition that only makes me want more.
