this game put a smile on my face from start to finish, as someone who grew up around the NEW series this game felt like a breath of fresh air after drowning in a sea of mediocrity for years. while the NEW series was devoid of any charm this game is oozing to the brim with personality, love, care, and attention.
the gameplay just feels spot on, every move, badge and physics just felt right and never broken in anyway. the animations are beautiful and a pleasure to witness every time. the soundtrack is fun and bouncy with just enough variety to not get annoyed with it. the characters are fun to play with and add a lot of variety.
100% this game was so fun, finding all of the wonder flowers was a joy and collecting everything felt so satisfying. the last few final challenges were really hard and made me want to twist my controller in half but getting through them were still really fun and i never felt like i should give up. the reward is also worth it in my opinion. i understand why people hate it but like every other mario game it's all about the journey not the destination.
overall this game is a must play to anyone who owns a switch. now i really wonder what the next game is gonna be like.
