There's this nifty thing in the menu where you can control the amount of enemy shots on-screen and how fast they travel. In any other game, this would be a clever accessibility feature. In an amiga shmup, it's a warning.

The main thing that kills the Mega Drive port (from what I've played) is the lack of score extends. Hard as the Amiga game is, it's not that hard to 1CC once you're consistent in the hub loop and can rack up mondo points using the spread gun. Not having that here hurts way more; 2 continues is low for clearing all stages in any-CC runs. I was having fun practicing the original game but found this port tiresome due to these life limits (plus the spread becoming actually OP, not just kinda). The lack of area transitions and reasonably visible homing/cloaked enemies from the OG game doesn't help.
