Ginkei sucks to play as, the ship is waaay too slow that it made me think that I didn't like the game as much as I used to, good thing I made sure to play with the Ikaruga ship afterwards.
The pinball minigame as a mandatory progression block is a bit infuriating, but dang that BGM composed by Hiro lessens the irritation. I like the idea, the execution not so much. Plus, the puzzle that's mandatory for getting to the first Titan boss takes forever for me to figure out sometimes, I never look forward to it. Cyberspace gameplay feels weird, it feels pretty good after playing it for a extended period of time, but that takes time. Gotta mention that rail switching in the open world, freaking sucks, you get flung off when you're boosting and it feels so wrong, I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet. I think the sad moment with Sage at the middle of the game didn't really land, but I'm taking in the lore on a replay to see if that makes it a bit better or not, not sure if it'll help, the game should make it work without having to make the effort to listen to the Egg Memos and watch all of the optional character cutscenes.
The side quests don't seem that fun to do(At least from my experience some of them don't seem too bad), also the puzzles in the game can be a pace breaker, even though I don't out right despise them, I don't particularly love them either. Some sexualization of Rikku(camera likes to focus on her butt sometimes) and she's like 16? 15, that doesn't make it better in the slightest.
The way the character designer Kamui Fujiwara draws the only black character in the main cast; Perel, reminds me of the way Akira Toriyama used to draw his dark-skin characters, get some minstrel vibes from it. Good thing, the artwork is outside of the game, because I genuinely adore Perel.
Where the hell is Leona?! Where the hell are the Ikari Warriors?! K' was the new protagonist in 99', but it makes me wonder why he was excluded too, believe the game was rushed though?
