Video Games I Want To Love But Can't

The unfortunate souls that don't jive with me, despite wanting them to.

Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII
I enjoyed it when I first played, but once I got stuck that's when I finally came to the conclusion over the years and after a recent return, that it's just not for me.

I loved so much about this game, I started it over as the female protagonist, but right when I got more into being a assistant detective with Kyoko Kuremi and one instance of the middle-aged detective Gorou Matayoshi speaking of the police in a positive light turned me completely off. I'm not willing to play a 20 - 100 hour RPG to see if it's actually critical of the powers that be, because that's too much time to give to only be disappointed in the end so yeah, I think I'll just watch the anime and play whatever other Digimon game I'm curious about, since I do really have a soft spot for this franchise. People say this is the best Digimon game and I can totally understand that, it's just not gonna fly for me in this day and age to ignore it and appreciate what it has to offer, when I gotta deal with anxiety of police, conservatives and shit.

I thought I could actually attempt to overcome its issues from what I heard and yeah, this game just didn't grab me or captivate me with its gameplay like NanaOn-Sha's other games. I was left frustrated and did not want to continue, despite liking everything else about it. Could have been fatigue from literally playing two other rhythm games back to back, but I do think I just don't like playing the game. Might be because I emulated it with the timing being affected, it seems like playing on original hardware is a little better?

Specifically the mobile version, I liked it at first, then realized that I pretty much despise playing with those virtual d-pad/button controls, feels so hollow...
