will probably have to replay in a year or two to see if its panspiritualism is genuinely stirring or just kind of milquetoast, but otherwise this was enrapturing!!! an easy recommendation for fans of this strand of indie games where Discovering What The Game Is is the central thrust, and if its not as soul-shaking as outer wilds or tunic or even adjacent experiences like obra dinn or hypnospace outlaw (all of which it extremely impressively pre-dates via the original skyrim mod), its even more broadly recommendable because of its tight (but extremely dense) runtime, and the lack of big scary puzzles. its amazing to think that because of the source material, all of the possible interaction is limited to what is possible in a bethesda game...dialog and quest markers and lame but at least undemanding combat,,,but both the framing and the contents are so incredible, and play on my desire for a true groundhog day game even more then outer wilds due to the fact that its about people and social interactions rather then the raw beauty of the systems of the universe. perhaps a little less awe-inspiring, but a lovingly intimate and stimulating puzzle box. im gonna be thinking about this for way too long
