played on switch so my exp with this game was worse than the average person since the switch version runs like absolute garbage LMAO
this game is an absolute mess of inconsistencies, and i'm not talking lore/story wise, but gameplay wise (difficulty most of all, not the core mechanics) and even in QoL
why can't i see the full erebonian map while i could in Liberl and Crossbell? why does Rean not have voice lines in moments where other characters have voice lines, and some of them are important lines? why does your acceleration reset when you turn over 90 degrees? why is there a fucking ''delete save data'' option in the middle of the save and continue options? why can't i pick up items and open up treasure chests while there's an active voice? why is the game a constant ''there is nothing happening'' for 5 hours into a ''holy shit hold on it got cool'' only for it to last half an hour or at max an hour and then go back to ''holy shit nothing is happening, again''?
even so the game wasn't boring, it was fun, i liked the supports between characters, i liked half of the cast at least (literally don't care for the other half, i hope machias and jusis fucking DIE, and holy mother of god PLEASE do something with gaius and fie, i like them but it'd be the same if they weren't in the game, but i trust they'll do something with them in the future 3 games, there are 4 games for a reason lmao)
ending was STUPIDLY good tho, i'll give it that
anyway it's mediocre and i would NOT recommend ANYONE in the world to start the Trails series with Cold Steel. it'd be gatekeeping people of games were stuff actually happens (insane, i know)
