Original 02/28/2024 review:
Constant asshole level design, game throws so many enemies at you but not enough ammo to kill them all. Doom 1 was way better. Might return if I get the doom itch

I have since revisited this game and played the 30 main levels. I'm not sure if this game just gets more enjoyable in the second half or if I just gained more patience but I had a considerably better time my second go around. The new enemies add quite a bit of variety to the encounters and the super shotgun is obviously amazing. Sure, you might grab a powerup and then suddenly like 30 monsters hanging out in a closet might want a word with you but as long as you abuse the quicksave key on your keyboard those moments are some of the most fun in the game.
