Pretty much Galaxy 1 but more, which is not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. The main differences involve removal of a story (a contentious topic, but one I disagree with) and the addition of Yoshi, which comes with it's own set of powerups. If you liked Galaxy 1, you'll like Galaxy 2 just as much.
