Despite the major technical issues and poor performance, this was by far the best Pokemon game we've had since the Alola games and easily the best on Switch.

Fantastic region, one of the best casts of characters in the franchise, a brilliant lineup of new Pokemon and an over all great vibe, this game was a joy to play from start to finish.

Paldea's open world, while not being a revolution of the genre or anything, is such a fun region to explore and mess around in. Loved the school setting, the tressure hunt and 3 main objective storylines were a great flow for the franchise's first true open world.

The story in the game is up there with gens 5 and 7 as the peak of Pokemon from a plot perspective. Such interesting lore additions that were super interesting to me as a big Pokemon nerd.

The gen 9 dex is leagues better than what we had to work with in gen 8 and discovering all the new Pokemon blind was as enjoyable as always.

As a whole I think Game Freak is 2 for 2 this year with Legends Arceus. While not without its flaws, such as many optimization issues and lack of voice acting, Scarlet and Violet are a great starting off point for this new generation and I'm excited to see where we go from here.
