Ein Strategiespiel auf dem Mars wo es eher um Geld als um Angriffe auf eure Gegner geht. Klingt eigentlich nach einer guten Idee. Doch die Umsetzung ist nicht ganz so gelungen. Ich hatte zwar oft Spaß an "Offworld Trading Company", doch die CPU ist öftermals viel zu stark, oder viel zu schwach. Auch die Komplexität möchte ich hier mal erwähnen. Spiele von Stardock haben ja oft das Problem das sie ein wenig schwer zu verstehen sind. "Galactic Civilizations III" war mich für mich zwar ein gutes Spiel, aber am Anfang viel zu kompliziert. Bei "OTC" hingegen schafft man es die Mechaniken gut zu erklären, aber einige Funktionen habe ich bis heute nicht verstanden. Die Aktien zum Beispiel. Das Hauptziel ist ja mehr oder weniger die einzige Firma auf dem Mars zu sein. Dabei muss man darauf achten Aktien der Gegner zu kaufen, um diese aus dem Weg zu räumen. Eure Gegner tun das allerdings auch. Aber wie das ganze mit den einzelnen Shares funktioniert weiss ich nicht nicht ganz. Was mich aber noch extrem gestört hat, das die Ländereien und Gebiete die man claimen kann, begrenzt sind. Das bringt zwar eine gewisse taktische Tiefe rein, nervt aber auf Dauer. Dennoch mochte ich "OTC" insgesamt. Das kaufen und verkaufen einzelner Ressourcen wie Wasser oder Sauerstoff ist eine schöne Idee und gut umgesetzt. Die Kampagne hält einen lange bei der Stange und unterhält einen für gut 10 Stunden. Außerdem sind die einzelnen Fraktionen abwechslungsreich.

I often enjoyed "Offworld Trading Company", but the CPU is often much too strong, or much too weak. I would also like to mention the complexity here. Games from Stardock often have the problem that they are a little hard to understand. "Galactic Civilizations III" was a good game for me, but at the beginning it was much too complicated. With "OTC", on the other hand, you manage to explain the mechanics well, but some functions I didn't understand until today. The stocks, for instance. The main goal is to be more or less the only company on Mars. You have to be careful to buy the enemy's shares in order to get rid of them. But so do your opponents. But how the whole thing works with the individual shares I do not know quite. But what bothered me extremely, that the lands and territories that can be claimed are limited. It brings in a certain tactical depth, but it annoys in the long run. Nevertheless, I liked "OTC" overall. Buying and selling individual resources such as water or oxygen is a nice idea and well implemented. The campaign keeps you at the bar for a long time and entertains you for a good 10 hours. In addition, the various political groups are varied.
