Me, months before trying it: "I loved Great Ace Attorney and Layton vs. Attorney, I could absolutely go for another set-in-fantasy-past investigation game"

Me 23 seconds in: "oh no"

edit: The broader problem is that the investigation boy being a judge means there's no real tension to the first (and only) case I played. People demand evidence for your convictions but, you're the only person deciding things. Sure, you have to explain to your bosses, but you're the authority of justice. No rival to fight against. You're the prosecution and the defendant and the judge. If you decide someone's guilty, they're guilty. End of story.

The more immediate problem is the panty shot that made up one of the first visuals of the game.
