Some of the most adorable sprites I've seen. Songbird Symphony is about a little bird named Birb who's trying to find his family and where he belongs and, along the way, he sings songs with various different bird tribes.

It's setup like a metroidvania with boss fights that are essentially simon says rhythm sections. The songs are all cute and well produced, but the rhythm gameplay never felt satisfying to me. Maybe it's the fact that Birb's singing chirps all sound annoying, but I also felt that the rhythm elements felt imprecise regarding timing. I also may just be bad at it.

The rest of the gameplay involves collecting notes around the map. There's this cool thing where when you collect a note, it adds a layer of music to the OST of that level. So as you progress, the music gets more and more complex. It's a great touch. I found myself getting lost way too often though and the lack of a proper map really hurt the game for me.

Songbird Symphony is adorable. It's just not something I enjoyed as much as I wanted to.
