We get it, it's the Devil May Cry 2 of the Mega Man games.
Does it play that horribly and is this such a awful game?
Well, honestly? No. There are much worse.

Is it mediocre? Yes. But I personally enjoyed it (at least the 2D sections, some 3D ones are bad by all means).
Only real huge gripe I have is how slow the dialogues can feel and the impossibility to skip cutscenes. Oh, and ofc how dumb some Mavericks boss fights are.
