I've never been a fan of metroid, I've always wanted to try out the games, but never have got the chance. I've played super metroid and although I probably owe it a replay, I wasn't fond of the wonky controls and movement of that game. Ive also never been big on metroidvanias, I've never like the feeling of being lost in a game, so metroidvanias start to lose me whenever I play them. So when we got Metroid Dread, I was curious to check it out, and the trailers looked cool and all so what could go wrong. it turns out nothing could go wrong because now I'm a fan of this series. Seriously, the movement and controls are perfect, samus feels so fast and weighty it feels good just to run around its super good, sure grappling and double jumping can be wonk sometimes, but it was nothing to ever ruin it. I also feel like this games level design is perfect, it ALWAYS feels like I was being nudged in the right direction on where to go, but was still encouraged to explore the areas, it was some really that great stuff that I never got tired of. Boss fights were also a spectacle, they always made use of samus's moveset in really fun and creative ways. Also this game got pretty tense, the inclusion of E.M.M.Is was already enough to seal that, but enimes are not slouch, I died plenty of times. This game, visually, is also one of nintendos best, I don't get all of the complaints, it all looks so god damn cool, dark when it needs to be, and colorful in some areas, and its all beautifully realized, you know they got it right when the loading zones look cool. I can't wait to play more games in the series, and to replay this one in the future
