Back in 2010 Alan Wake rocked my world. I hadn't really played many games but I loved how weird and wonderful the whole thing was. I waited and waited for a proper follow up but it felt like it was never going to happen. Then it did. This game... holy shit, man. This game... is magnificent. It vastly improves on the first game and American Nightmare not just in terms of gameplay but also story.

If the first game was a love letter to the original Twin Peaks series then this game is undoubtly a love letter to Twin Peaks: The Return.

Also, the musical sequence is a delight and I gladly play Herald of Darkness on a daily basis from now on.
