Turnin AC into an RPG was the worst idea ever, although the ambientation and story are excellent, the game always halts your progress on what you want to do based on "Level". Older AC games also had upgrades on side quests but with them you unlocked new approaches to the missions instead of just seeing a number go up. Also, it's hilarious that an enemy 3 levels ahead will insta kill you while you can't even graze it, but with 2 levels it's very doable, it's not proportional and doesn't feel natural in any way. The tools which are signature of the franchise only work on low level enemies, but the game scales up underleveled enemies, so it makes the mechanic almost useless. Not to mention the stealth kills, which really are only interesting if you cheese the high level enemies, attacking them then running until they stop combat, then rinse and repeat.
