I'm an absolute sucker for co-op story games. I love games like the We Were Here series, Gears of War, and, my favorite of all, It Takes Two from the same developer. Especially after playing the previously mentioned It Takes Two, this game seemed like a no brainer for my buddy and I.

This was mostly a decently enjoyable co-op experience. For the most part, the gameplay, story, and puzzles were only fun because you were experiencing it with a buddy; they wouldn't have been worth it as a single player game. In this case I played it with a friend who I have played several co-op games with over the last 15 years or so, including It Takes Two. For most of the game we thought "Yeah, not bad. But not great either."

However, I say "mostly" because the game did do one thing extraordinarily well; the ending. We were NOT expecting the undercover cop twist at all. When we were fighting each other in the end there were so many emotions between the two of us. We were shouting "You were my brother, Anakin!" and other playful banters at each other while we were trying to gun each other down. Years of playing cooperative storyline games did not prepare us for how to handle this ending. In the end, it was very close between him and I but he (Leo) got the best of me (Vincent). We were both heartbroken. The ending was the best bit of story and gameplay throughout the entire game, which is good; you want your game to end off in a noteworthy way.

Overall, a fun enough game to play with a friend that was ultimately bumped up several levels by a superb ending. The story (besides the ending) was predictable and maybe even generic, but still not bad. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun co-op experience. I do wish we would've played this before It Takes Two, before our expectations were raised forever by a true co-op masterpiece.

Oh, and go play It Takes Two.
