Sonic Mania is a great love letter to classic Sonic, but that also ends up hurting it. Half of the game is just levels from previous games, and due to the different art styles that these games have, it creates a lack of cohesion. It feels like a step back from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but it's still a very good game.
