Wait this isn't Super Mario Bros. 2

It starts out alright with cute and interesting characters and a fun SoL, but hiding a seedy underbelly. Sayori commits suicide about halfway into the game, and then the game peaks there and tries so hard to be spooky and scary but like you've already pulled the rug from underneath us and none of this second act stuff really matters. It's an awfully done waste of time creepypasta.

Act 3 is funny because Monika basically tells you what to do in a very specific manner in a way that Salvato was clearly afraid of players getting stuck there, especially anyone who'd stream it. For someone who wants JUST MONIKA forever it's funny that she tells you exactly how to delete her. Also reciting your username as if to say I KNOW WHO YOU ARE is really old hat by this point, not to bring up You Me and Her but it did it first eons before this. It's also funny if your login name isn't your name at all but I digress.

At the end of the true ending (which is a little obtuse to get since it requires starting over thrice before Sayori kills herself he said he made this game as a critique of those who have a waifu, saying he doesn't understand it and that the concept is silly....but then turns that mindset around and makes all this SoL stuff like Monika's Twitter as soon as he realizes it can make him a profit. Funny how money can change a man.

And then there's Dan and the fans making Monika out to be sympathetic when she very realistically tells a girl constantly that she should kill herself and that the world would be better without her and later Monika even makes for of Sayori struggling on her noose? Like what the fuck even if Sayori is a .chr, Monika is too so that'd be the same as me constantly telling you to kill yourself so what the fuck? No Monika is not sympathetic she can be deleted and stay deleted.

All in all, Danganronpa V3 of earlier this year did the meta thing (albeit a different kind of meta) better, and with a cuter girl doing it too.

Mouser isn't in this game 0/10
