While the utilization of Friends and how the mechanic ties back to the plot and co-op is encouraged is good, but the levels don't feel like they were made with 4 players in mind, so things can get real claustrophobic really fast. Or really empty. There's no inbetween. Superstar's 2 player Co-op was the sweetspot, 4 players feels too many. Bosses go down in a blink thanks to 4 people going at them at once, but at least they have neat elemental properties and there are more new bosses this time. It's a Kirb so the music is always good.

It was too short on launch but the post-release Dream Friends and Friends in Another Dimension give the game a little more life, even if you're just doing similar campaigns with 12 different movesets.
