Bug Fables is decent but not amazing, sometimes it takes itself too seriously when it isn't as earned like with some of the backstories, but otherwise it's okay. They put a Bane reference right before the final boss fight which while it made me laugh because it caught me off guard but it really shouldn't have been there, took me right out of the game. Otherwise it sure is Paper Mario, but instead of a wide range of party members you use 1 at a time, it's 3 at once, which has its pros and cons. Music is okay, the wasp battle theme is gud but that's it.

It just feels like another TTYD though rather than better TTYD, which is unfortunate given the 15 year hindsight this game has on that one. If I had to recommend one to someone who'd play neither, I would suggest the two true Paper Mario games rather than this spiritual successor.
