Vampire Survivors is a game that wears its Castlevania inspirations on its sleeve and does something fun with the gameplay. At least it's fun for a bit, but then you enter god mode like 20 minutes into your 30 minute run and you're left sitting there waiting for your game to end.
Sometimes you start with a whip, sometimes you start with fire, you have minor stat differences and a miniscule trait but otherwise they all play the same.
The game does something really interesting near the end but sadly it's only for a short moment. It's a great idea things just need to stand out more from one another and more things need to happen in general.
