theres something so human about helldivers 2 that makes you keep playing, and im not just talking about the community and PEOPLE behind this game. the real reason you keep playing is because you saw you can unlock a jetpack, a war machine, and a fucking nuke. this unlocks the little monkey inside all our brains that wants to see cool shit happening, and it just works! the games sense of humor and the world it builds, almost forces you to just want to be the stupidest looking badass you can be. and, the best part? you can do it with your friends!
the only problems i would say the game has right now is that, well first clean up the glitches and bugs, but MAINLY? keep getting silly! keep getting weird! i really think this game should promote having fun by making stupid silly perks and guns! Its in the early stages right now so I'll let it slide, but i REALLY want to see what this team can cook up in a couple months... anyway go play so you yourself can spread democracy via annihilation of several bug species and robot people!

i have NEVER played a game with as fluid movement as this. Games like this bring so much creativity to the table, allowing the player to go absolutely nuts. I only wish EA realized how special of a game this really was.

When released, many saw MultiVersus as a shining beacon of hope that maybe Smash could share the crown if a big enough company made a 2D platform fighter correctly. Time after time though, it seems there is absolutely no one who will get close to the crown. A lot of factors go into making a platform fighter "good", firstly having a cast of memorable and instantly iconic characters with distinct movesets. Second appeasing casuals and pros with an extensive combat system that has a good amount of hidden tech that doesn't interfere with how normies will play. Finally, ok online(ultimate doesnt even really need this one but whatever).
Melee is probably the closest i've seen to being perfect, with fast buttery smooth combat at high levels, with enough common knowledge to not disregard the casuals that Nintendo seemingly wanted to appeal more to. MultiVersus(and other games now entering this platform fighter race) has something that Nintendo has very little of that will I think eventually help most achieve something close to that perfect gams, and that is a little thing called communication. What will most likely happen is they will actually LISTEN to the community and be able to change the game constantly. Most of my complaints right now will most likely become moot in around a year. The question is if MultiVersus will be able to survive long enough to get there. It already nearly lost all of its community even before the beta finally closed. What amazes me is how much they got wrong on this new launch, that were non-problems in the beta, like being able to play as different characters in practice for free, or problems that are now WORSE like how it feels even more floaty, boring, tedious, and slow. Online is definitely fun, if your playing doubles. Solo online is genuinely some of the most boring spammy and laggy shit of all time. The characters also dont feel like their all connected in a real way, its very jarring to have a character like bugs bunny right next to arya stark. The new layout and ui is also so much more messy than before, with boring ass campaign shit for people to unlock useless garbage cluttering everything up. I dont know man, i think one day we will get a good, successful 2D platformer that doesnt have mario in it, but the foundation this one is built upon doesnt seem like its interesting enough to warrant any more attention, even if it does get better later on.
