I know this is the cliche thing that everyone says about this game, but without a map, you will be absolutely lost. There are minimal hints, that are really hard to find, and I can't imagine playing this when it is released. Using a map doesn't take any of the value away in my opinion, as most of the fun of it comes from the challenge. It almost feels like a bullet hell, as the enemies move quickly, and hit hard. And once you have played through it once or twice, you don't have to rely on a map or a walkthrough whatsoever. Not much puzzle-solving here, and what is present is very cryptic and hard to solve. At the end of the day, while this game may seem like it hasn't aged well, there is still plenty to enjoy here that makes this worth playing, especially if you are a fan of the series.
