I do wish this rpg, open world style was the way Pokemon games would lean towards and I do not understand how this game is older than Scarlet/Violet and still runs SO MUCH better, the difference is astounding. As all the other Pokemon games, the story isn’t anything revolutionary, but it is there :).

There are a few mechanics that give this game a breath of a fresh air, I am someone who loves quests so running around and collecting or researching pokemon for people made me very happy.

I do have to point out that this game is a little more difficult than the others I’ve played, you can’t simply over level it, pokemon half my level could still spank me if the move was super effective against mine.

It is possible to complete the Pokedex without trading in this game, but I found some of them rely heavily on random event spawn chance.

yesssss glad you got around to playing PLA! And yea the performance I was genuinely surprised to see ran pretty smooth on my end. Didn't care much for the story, but I will say it did make my eyebrows raise a little, more so later on. Big agree on the difficulty. Though i've only played a very small amount in the series. I felt it was hard a bit in the beginning. Pokemon felt like a real threat despite my team having a decent high level range. Especially with certain moves that are hecka effective like you said. +1 to the 'rely heavily on random event spawn chance.' I almost completed the dex on my end, but gave up due to that lol. Always got unlucky.

Still a blast though PLA that is.

@Detectivefail I have to say not only the performance was smooth but it actually looks pretty, the environments and such, I have a few nice screenshots. And yes the beginning I was actually scared, moving from bush to bush, throwing pokeballs out of shadows like some sort of assassin's creed - bidoof version. I did give up on completing the pokedex with only few left I really didn't feel like grinding for it either haha. I am looking forward to the new game that was announced, see which direction they'll take it, looking forward to see what you'll think if you'll play it that is :)

oh definitely. The game is beautiful and I couldn't get enough of exploring everywhere. LMAO AC-bidoof version is accurate haha. I was surprised how viable it was to play safe and 'stealth' in a way to capture mons unaware. And same. Pokemon Z-A(i think thats the latest? if its wrong my bad im not up to date with pokemon news) looks awesome! I plan on playing it. Likewise with your thoughts on it!
