Ok, this update was a banger and Idk why there is so many people saying its bad.
First of all the playable characters are all, atleast, decent, for me, I liked them all, at the beginning amy is the best, but after I unlocked the mech for tails, he became my favourite, and altough knuckles has bad flying controls (and both him and tails have some startup for some reason) he is still fun, I like clibing with him cause its not uncontrolable like sonic's clibing.
The Bosses and cyberspace stages are all secondary, but what'ive played of them, the cyberspace levels are decent to good, and the bosses are good to, not so good. same thing for the question mark missions.
The platforming, overall, I liked it, it wasn't just automation like base frontiers, maybe a little confusing, but fun!
The towers you climb as sonic aren't even that hard, for one, you can switch to easy mode and balloons will pop everywhere, and tbh, they weren't even that hard, sure, I fell a couple times but nothing hard, skill issue (also, the level design on them are really good, I replay them all the time).
The missions from the towers... Yeah, that's the worst part of the update, but, as you know, you can get the parry time to be 2 seconds by selecting easy mode, the first one is hard but, at some point you can do it. The second one is using the parry when they throw their shield (as far as possible) and them hitting them, parry when the shield comes back, hence and repeat. The 3rd and 4th ones were easy, and the 5th one was so fun dude, hard but fun, go easy mode and just focus on beating them fast, its not that hard.
(the lore tips were pretty cool too, the lore was good, not GREAT, just good)
The final boss was amazing, if you had any trouble with it, that's a you problem, and I admit I also stumbled on a part.
Im not saying nothing about what happens and the characterization of the new super form cause, cmon, beautiful
Now, if you payed attention on the chaos island bossfight, super sonic cylooped the sword and, if you notice, when you're heating the shield, you can dodge right to hit him and skip the shield part, let's just say you can also do that in the final boss fight.
Anyway, I loved it, this is the update we've been waiting for, and, if they decide to patch the difficulty spikes, I'll give this a 5 star review, great job Sonic Team.
