As someone who has played all the SMT games there is, I will be frank: I wasn't entirely satisfied. Even less with how long this game took to make.

The thing that bothers me the most is the insane little amount of creatures on the compendium. It may easily be the least amount of demons there is on the games of the main entries. To someone who likes to 100% the compendium, it gets boring to do new cycles.
I get that the 3D models are new and hard to produce, but look at Nocturne. That game made the 3D models from 0, and all the other games basically reused it to some extend (such as Persona 3-4, Raidou, DDS). It has a fair amount of creatures too. And since it's the game it's been inspired on, I think it should do justice at least.
Everytime I think about how many demons there's on SMTIV, i get DEPRESSED playing this.

Despite all that, the graphics are great. The engine is nice, it's very inspired on SMTIII just like SMTIV is based off SMTII and so it goes.
The OST was just okay... I miss Meguro somehow. But the new artist replacing Kaneko is doing a very interesting job maintaining the franchises essence on his own original way. His art looks awesome.

The dungeons were a bit repetitive. When you compare to the Nocturne's dungeons, it's upsetting. It could have been so much better.

Now the battle is very satisfying. I loved every second of the game clear mechanics and dynamics. The difficulty was enjoyable as hell, and they did an awesome job at that.

Overall, it will become like Nocturne; a game for newcomers to enjoy. Though I would prefer for them to play Nocturne instead, since it gives off more of the franchise's energy overall. But I wouldn't judge anyone who start by this entry since it's more appealing due to it's graphics and recent release.
