It has a distinct artstyle as well as a fun movement system and gameplay, but otherwise it has a short gameplay loop wherein you mostly focus on spamming trivialized missions over and over to level up frames and weapons for a higher mastery rank. It's a great horde shooter to just throw on, but there's generally a lack of good challenging content - although the randomization of Duviri and the Steel Path Circuit was a step in the right direction to shake up people's optimized powercrept builds. I hope to see more challenging content in the future.

All the players can also become busted as hell for all of the content, literally to the point where people can one-shot any boss in the game. Previously this has been handled with bosses that have long invincibility phases/multiple phases which feel obnoxious to play against, but some more recent bosses are experimenting with damage dampening to offset how damn strong players can be (archons are an awful bullet sponge fight, I hope they get changed). Nonetheless there is still not really any engaging difficult content to progress through which offers any tangible reward - for the most part you can just buy everything from other players.

The story and characters are engaging, but man I wish we would get it more often.
