Rayman Origins is one of my favorite modern platformers and dare I say favorite platformers (old and new) of all time.
The combination of vibrant and colorful graphics with tight controls, excellent soundtrack, and fast-paced and well-timed level design create a unique platforming experience. Old features such as number of lives or restarting levels after you die are gone with more accessible options of retrying at frequent checkpoints. However, don't let the accessibility modern features fool you, this game has plenty of challenges for those looking for one, especially trying to beat the time scores. I went for full completion/mastering/platinum trophy for both the PS3 and Vita versions and it was one of the most satisfying experiences because you walk out of playing the game feeling like a Jedi master having to dominate patterns and speed runs for all levels.
