I didn’t think I’d ever play Fallout 76 as I heard it had an abysmal launch.

It’s literally just Fallout 4 + Multiplayer Online.
This means the graphics are nice - for an early 2010s game. Oddly, this also means the game almost feels nostalgic at this point.
But I think it’s excellent, so far it is nailing my favourite parts of Fallout: I like to just explore the world slowly and come upon some interesting scenes that happened in the distant past. And thankfully co-op enhances the experience further.

I think the always-online / MMO aspect works in favour of Fallout’s setting - it makes the stakes feel a little higher in that you can’t just save/reload and game the system in the ways you can in a single player game. Similarly, the tweaked survival system has put more emphasis on food, hydration and other chems beside Stimpacks, which I'm liking.
The dialogue system from New Vegas makes a return, and that alone is making progressing through the campaign more enjoyable than Fallout 4 for me. I'm just hoping the narrative doesn't peter out, but it probably will.
I’m playing as a revolver-toting gunslinger, but I receive about 6 bullets for every enemy I kill with 1 or 2, meaning I’ve amassed 800 revolver bullets in just a few hours, so that could’ve been reworked a little - I don’t have any reason to try other weapons. Nonetheless, it runs very well on PS5 and the shooting is the best it’s been in a Fallout title.
The C.A.M.P system so far looks like a good appropriation of Fallout 4’s building system.

I’m enjoying this game quite a bit.
