As much as I love the Resident Evil series and I enjoyed a ton Revelations 1, I can't recomment this one for a couple of reasons, and specially not if this will be your first experience with Resident Evil.

While the game is fun to play, there is a "gimmick" of switching between two stories, which starts becoming a hassle and certainly made the game less enjoyable, at least for me, mainly because you will see yourself playing through all the levels TWICE, one with claire and one with Barrie, sort of the two main characters in this game, although you will control more.

And the other gimmick of this game is that you will be controlling two characters, but the secondary character ends up only being a "find hidden amo or hp" gameplay which you should been able to do just with the main character; oh and also, you can play coop with a friend on splitscreen but because of this only one person will get to "play" because one will be shooting whilst the other will be just carring a flashlight or /literally) pointing the finger at things, which I guess is an addition nontheless but clearly one will get to have most of the fun.

The story is kinda there, it's not bad but also very zombie generic, also worth mentioning is, this game comes from a period of time where games tried to be tv shows and therefore follows the "episodic game" trend like Life is Strange, so keep in mind that if buying the game, because unless you buy all the chapters you will only get to play the first chapter.

Other thing that caught my eye is that the game doesn't really look that good for a 2015 AAA game, neither in level design nor in graphical phidelity, and it still runs like crap.

Although, in the end, if you like Resident Evil like me, yeah, you will get some enjoyement here and there, even if the game drags and constantly repeats levels; but if this will be one of your first time playing a Resident Evil just go play RE2 Remake or Revelations, and stay away from this mess of a game.
