I honestly came into Earthbound afraid that I would get bored with it instantly. A friend of mine recommended it to me, and I have heard a lot about the game for quite some time. So, I finally decided to give it a shot and was humbly amazed.

Earthbound is a video game classic that sadly doesn't get the modern recognition it deserves. It's writing, characters, and setting are all equally unique and creative, giving this game a rare glimpse of whimsicality missing from most modern titles.

Its gameplay and enemies are also ever-evolving as you play, making each encounter a different experience than before. Its surprising lack of repetition impressed me, as one of my biggest fears with this was it feeling repetitive, and luckily my fears were wrong.

The only thing that brings this game down is its old form of item management and that some encounters can have a strange difficulty spike, but I was expecting this for an old SNES game and it doesn't truly bring the game down in any other aspect.

I highly recommend Earthbound to almost everyone, as I feel that everyone can find something to enjoy from this.

Ness, his friends as well as the entirety of Eagleland, are all a true staple of gaming history and deserve all the recognition they can get.
