Struggled to enjoy this the first time around, mainly because the difficulty curve is so ridiculously steep in the first few hours. I think they really messed up the tutorials in this game, there's a tutorial pop-up for pretty much everything and yet I was still lost and confused for the first few hours. I gave up around the third level last year.

With that said, this game kicks so much ass when you actually know what you're doing and goddamn was it worth replaying. Mastering that combat loop is tricky at first but once you've got it, you've got it. Leaping through the air, sniping an arm cannon and lobbing a grenade at a bunch of demons is so gratifying. It's everything DOOM did so well taken to the next level. It's great.

Marauders suck though seriously who thought they would be fun.
