Quite simply one of the greatest games ever made. The quirky, amateurish surface aesthetic hides what can only be described as a work of deeply, hilariously subversive genius that manages to be an extremely compelling game on a strictly textual level as well as offering biting and insightful metacommentary on both the video game medium and video game audiences in general. This is all held together immaculately by a complete unity of vision that is immensely ambitious in scope but never comes across like it is intending to be some sort of work of high art, rendering it entirely accessible despite its depth. A singularly wonderful game and unlike almost anything else I've ever played.
