Man, I love Spider-Man and this game did a great job at making me feel like Spider-Man.

Marvel's Spider-Man is a fantastic Spider-Man game in terms of it's story and gameplay and characters, but it does have a few problems in terms of gameplay and story elements that stops it from being an almost perfect game for me.

The story is fantastic and explores Peter well as a character, and I love that they put Peter in well into his career, and the gameplay and dialogue helped give insight to what his backstory his. My main problem with the story is Aunt May's death, I feel like she wasn't in the game much to the point where it comes to her death, I didn't feel anything. I feel like she should've been explored more as a character but the scenes where we do see her, she's a great character. Also, I love how personal this story is for Peter too, which made the final boss very interesting to play.

The gameplay is very good, it has the best webslinging mechanics in the game and it's a great starting point for Insomniac to develop over the next few games. The open world after the main story ends is a little boring and flat so I try to do everything I can before the main story ends so I won't feel that boredom. The side missions were also kind of repetetive but I feel like storywise, it explores the "friendly neighbourhood" aspect well. The boss battles is my biggest gripe, I did NOT feel any challenge towards them at all and and they became very repetitive.

The music is god damn amazing, I love the main theme and the graphics are really fucking good, especially in the remastered version of the game.

OVERALL: Marvel's Spider-Man is a great start to a new chain of Spider-Man games, I love how it sets up the next game in true Marvel fashion, and I can't wait to see what they do with the characters and gameplay from here on out.

OVERALL SCORE: 9/10
