Dark Souls 1 is probably the game to be remembered, not only because it's mechanics but how the lore is perfect in the world of Dark Souls and the map being so we'll connected, you can even see the great hollow from firelink shrine, or see Izalith and the ash lake from the catacombs.

This game is Just marvelous.
