assuming that anyone considers drakengard to be some deep or thoughtful narrative only further proves your confusion
it goes like this chandler: nobody praises drakengard for its storytelling or gameplay. only for its bizarre conveyance of madness, its dark humor, and for its off the wall soundtrack. it's really edgy shit, but it has some super cool imagery if what it does is your thing.
nier's the one people praise for storytelling, and that one's worth the praise. automata less so, but it has a lot of cool worldbuilding built off the first game
Also I never said it was deep. I'm saying a lot of the rabid fans are all deluded and somehow manage to make every game sound like the most pretentious and uninteresting things to ever exist somehow, insane skill honestly.
