Gorgeous. Addictive. Infuriatingly difficult.

Note: I honestly don't know why anyone would prefer any of the other versions to the original Apple II one or to the initial DOS / Amiga ports (which polishes up the original while maintaining the simplicity and flatness). People talk about the SNES version having "better" graphics. Yeah, I guess if you like a bunch of pointless detail being added that makes it look like lots of other platformers from the era. The beauty of the original game is its striking minimalism (which, incidentally, helps the smoothness of the rotoscoping shine).

I love the Mac one, maybe because it's the one I played when I was little, in my dad's Mac. The graphics of the SNES one feel too generic, the pixel art lacks the personality of the original and the Mac ones.

Totally agree! The Mac one is a little cartoonier and less flat than the DOS/Amiga version, but it still feels like the same style. The SNES one looks like a totally different (and less interesting) game.

I agree that the DOS/Amiga version are the better looking but what do you mean when you say original? Isn't the original the Apple II's? I'm interested in playing and will probably go for the DOS version as I feel it captures the Apple II's flat aesthetic while just being prettier

you're right! my mistake. I'd gotten the order of the ports mixed up. going to edit to reflect that. I also prefer the DOS over the Apple II, but both have that really appealing minimalism about them which most of the later ports lack.
