Sonic Superstar is an interesting game, I don't think its as bad as many people say considering the fact the game is still enjoyable in my opinion but there are many things that hold this game back from being something truly special. I don't hate the bosses and the final boss of the main story wasn't as bad as I remember but the other two final bosses give me PTSD, hell I didn't even bother finishing the last one. I actually think the stages are a lot of fun, not as good as something like Sonic Mania but I do think they are well designed, well mostly. Everything I said in my previous review still applies here, so there isn't much I can really say about this game anymore.

Congratulations SammyClassicSonicFan, you finally got your 3D environment 2D Classic Sonic Game.

When the backloggd score for this game came out, I got a little concerned especially since I preordered the game. So I'm thankfully glad I ended up enjoying it in the end, well mostly. This game thankfully does replicate the classic sonic formula well with some fun level design. Amy is just her origins plus counterpart and each character are fun to play as, especially the newcomer Trip. The chaos emerald abilities are pretty fun to use. I don't think the bosses are that bad even though they are a little too long but the three final bosses are all different stories altogether that I don't want to get into.

Other then that this is kind of the NSMB of Sonic but I'm not saying that's a bad thing though. Overall not as good as 2, CD, 3, and Mania, but better then 1 and especially Knuckles Chaotix (from what I played). But is it worth $60?

NO!

Either wait for a price drop or just buy Sonic Mania for $20 instead. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is defiantly going to be better then this though.
