Before Switch Games, Supersonic Warriors 2 was probably of the best Dragon Ball portable games along Shin Budokai and the underrated and highly forgotten DB Evolution for PSP.

The way this game tells you the Dragon Ball story is good because you can play the path of every character in the roster. You can play the canon parts such as the battle between Goku and Vegeta or Gohan Vs. Cell. Also “what if” we're a good part of the story, unlocking them could be annoying or mysterious but once you do it the story shows you incredible things suchs as Goku and Bardock meeting each other or Piccolo becoming evil again. Even the tutorial mode has story of a training between Gotenks and Piccolo!

The gameplay is pretty good, is an arena fighter but without an annoying camera because is 2D, the sprites are great. There are not technical problems.

The roster is good, but there are some characters that are missing. Sometimes the story is rushing because from the Saiyan Saga there's only Vegeta, from Cell saga androids are missing because most of them are supports, also the game could include some characters from the movies more than Cooler, Metal Cooler and Broly. Also it pains that Vegito it's only a tag team move. It's alright because system limitations but they could do more.

Maximum Z and Arcade more are good also. But at one point the are just getting repetitive to the point you can actually get boring of it.

In general it is a good game, by far one of the best Dragon Ball portable games. It's sad that this saga never had a third part.
