This was the first time that Tony Hawk verged on open world, which was really cool at the time. Skating between the different locations was neat even if you had to skate through long corridors so that the game could load. It helped that the game has a lot of great maps, like the Oil Rig or Casino, but especially the Skate Ranch, which you expand yourself over the course of the game - it's really neat.
