While I never could play this game very well, between the fully fledged cinematic story mode and the challenge tower it's plenty of fun just for the single player offerings alone. The way the story mode cuts seamlessly from cinematics to gameplay never stops being cool as hell, and it helps that it's really well written and fun to see unfold. The fighting system, while I never mastered it, is approachable enough that it's fun to beat up the CPUs in the single player modes. Hell of a game.
